Which is what the part-ward system is all about: democracy and governance working together.  The best of both worlds.  Balancing grassroots input from the various communities of interest, with councillors&#039; mandated authority to govern the city as a whole.

You ask for debate on the merits of our views.  Why not outline your own views clearly and explain why you believe we should get rid of the present part-ward system and what advantages the city-wide system offers?

We each have our ways of serving the people of Napier, but I believe there is room for both types of representation, as long as we can work as a team.

That’s how we can get the best outcome for Napier.
