I similarly value the extensive work you do as a city-wide Councillor. Don't we make a great team! Which is what the part-ward system is all about: democracy and governance working together. The best of both worlds. Balancing grassroots input from the various communities of interest, with councillors' mandated authority to govern the city as a whole. You ask for debate on the merits of our views. Why not outline your own views clearly and explain why you believe we should get rid of the present part-ward system and what advantages the city-wide system offers? We each have our ways of serving the people of Napier, but I believe there is room for both types of representation, as long as we can work as a team.
